Lisa has a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, and is certified by the Cooper Institute of Aerobic Research and the American College of Sports Medicine. She is a certified Yoga Instructor through the Yoga Alliance, and has had experience working with people of all fitness levels. Previously, Lisa worked with the US Air Force Fitness Program, assisting active duty military members exceed their fitness standards, and she has worked with adults and children of all fitness abilities.

Food For Health

The traditional American “diet” mindset is one of restriction and labeling foods as “good” and “bad.” Unfortunately, this has set up our culture to have a love/hate relationship with food, and to struggle with our weight, health, and emotions in relation to it.

Lisa has spent more than 10 years researching and exploring a variety of dietary paths, and has led clients to major successes with their diet—without using a calorie-counting or restriction approach. A whole foods, traditional nutrition approach, combined with strategies to keep the process positive, provide the foundation for success with food.

Food truly is medicine, and when a person nourishes his/her body in a way tailored to specific needs, the body will not only heal itself but reach maximum levels of wellness. Lisa works with clients to explore and investigate special dietary needs and create a plan that will yield real results.

Lisa has been working with clients in the area of food and nutrition for more than 10 years, teaching courses, leading workshops, and working with people one-on-one. Nutrition planning is not one-size-fits-all, and having assistance in exploring your nutritional niche is essential on the road to maximal wellness.

Wellness Coaching

A Wellness Coach has a unique role in facilitating and empowering clients to become their best selves; to set, work toward, and reach their goals; and to develop positive healthy habits that will maximize long-term quality of life.

Exploration, education, and strategy are the keys to Lisa’s approach with clients. Motivation, determination, and accountability are important aspects of lifestyle evolution, and with Lisa, clients are guided along this path. Reaching maximum wellness is at least a part-time job for most people. A wellness coach helps streamline this process and make it more efficient and effective.

Using a positive approach, Lisa helps clients to create their best selves, write their life stories in the way they choose, and live healthy, fit, and well everyday. Fitness, food, and stress management make up the foundation of wellness, and taking a comprehensive approach provides the most effective results.

Lisa has a Master’s Degree in Public Health Management, and a Ph.D. in Public Health – Community Health Promotion and Education. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist, has a Nutrition Certification through eCornell, and teaches nutrition, health, and wellness courses for several online universities. Lisa has been wellness coaching in the corporate setting since 2008, and has been working with individual clients since 2003.
